Why pay to translate the same phrase over and over?
Reuse your words!
A translation memory (TM) is created using specialized software that compares a source document (e.g.,Spanish) with its translation (e.g., English) and pairs matching “segments,” typically sentences. These segments of original text and corresponding translation are then stored and can be recalled and reused in future translation projects containing similar segments. TMs can be made instantaneously during the translation process or can be created from legacy translations you already have.
A termbase (TB) is a fancy bilingual glossary that allows you to store contextual information along with bilingual word pairs, to help you better manage your terminology and keep your terms and concepts consistent over time and across documents.
